Scriptures for the month of June: Isaiah 55:8-11 & Isaiah 43:18-19
Ecclesiastes 3:11 – God has made everything in our lives beautiful in His time. Though we may not always like His timing and may sometimes desire for Him to move faster, we need to come to a place of understanding and surrender—accepting that this is simply how it is. This is God’s design, and we cannot change it.
Isaiah 55:8
We need to truly take time alone with the Lord, asking Him what the old skin is that He wants us to let go of. This June, I need to ensure that when I come into God's presence, I let go of my usual ways of approaching Him. I must come before Him asking: What are His ways? What are His thoughts? What does He want to deal with or speak to me about?
When I do this, God will speak to me and show me.
Isaiah 43:18-20
I need to ask the Lord: what old things am I still holding onto? If I try to hold onto my old ways while embracing the new, it won’t work.
This June, I need to come before the Father—to help me, to rebuke me, to reveal my life to me, and to deal with and remove the old skin. Without this, I won’t be able to carry the new wine.
Not with premeditated prayer points, but with an understanding that God’s ways during our prayer times now must be different—we need to focus on what God is wanting to do.
When God is calling us to be closer with Him, we shouldn’t be holding onto our old ways. God's ways and thoughts aren’t like ours, so when I come before Him, I ought to know that He is God our creator, and I’m not. He was never created, and I can trust Him and know He knows every thoughts of every person right now, and He isn’t overwhelmed by that knowledge.
He sees everything right now, in both the spirit and natural.
So when I come before His presence I need to keep this in mind and allow Him to reveal to us His ways, will, desires and thoughts.
I’ll never be able to know the plans, purpose and thoughts and intentions of God for my life. He may reveal some things, but it doesn’t mean I know and understand the full picture.
My way of thinking about how things will happen won’t be the way it unfolds. I need to trust God, trust His process, and enjoy the journey.
We need to let God be God and not try to help Him out. Since He is God we must allow Him to do things in His own way.
Whenever God needs us, He will tell us—but not every time trouble comes will God call us. God doesn’t need my help to protect me, nor does He need my help to fulfill the promises He has made to me. He doesn’t need my help.
God doesn’t need our help. We need to let Him be God all by Himself.
Exodus 14:15-16
God will allow situations to become serious so that He can be glorified in that moment. The Israelites went into the water before it parted. Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego went into the fire. Daniel went into the lion’s den. God’s ways aren’t like ours.
If I want God to come in the way I want, sometimes things have to get worse and harder, and there His glory will be revealed even more.
Jeremiah 29:11
This June, God is dealing with the plans for my life—and His plans aren’t the ones I’m thinking about, nor the ones I’ve written down. How He will execute those plans won’t be the way I expect.
God’s plans for me might not make sense, but they are good and beautiful. They will bring Him glory because His name is at stake, and He will not disappoint us.
There is a word from God that He wants to release, so His word won’t return to Him empty—just as the rain and snow fall and accomplish their purpose. God is saying we need to take time and enquire of Him: “Lord, what are Your plans and purposes for my life?” and ask Him to release that word so I will be positioned and aligned in heart and life with it, allowing His purpose to be accomplished.
There is a word that will support God’s purpose for us, and when it comes, it will confirm His word. Something must take place this June—I need to make up my mind.
I need to leave my premeditated desires aside and come into His presence asking one thing: What is Your plan? What word do You want to release so that Your plans for me can come to pass?
God wants to breathe into our lives and release new wine in me.
Jeremiah 29:12 – We’re praying to a God who is all-powerful, mighty, and was not created by any man. Whatever captivity I’m in, if I seek God with all my heart, I will find Him.
It’s time to seek God and take time with Him.
Amen.
